Sunday Spotlight: The Moon

I love this card but a lot of peeps don’t.

It’s seen as a harbinger of doom like Death and The Devil.

Fair enough too, I mean look at that image. Hard-shelled creatures crawl up from the watery depths, whilst a dog and wolf howl at the moon as it sheds tears between stone towers. It’s a strange, fearful scene.

And yes, The Moon experience can involve raising inner demons, phobias and fears. You could find yourself overcome with anxiety. Or just plain bewildered.

However, we need to flip the script.

Focus on following that golden path over the mountains.

Because at its heart, The Moon has an incredibly empowering story to tell.

Let’s start by exploring those towers…

They’re reminiscent of the columns we saw back in the High Priestess card. Here they’ve grown and the veil between them has been ripped back.

Receiving this card is a demonstration of how much you’ve matured as a human being. You can finally see behind the High Priestess’s veil. You can identify your deepest fears and saddest self-truths (Enough to make any wild creature howl and the heavens sob.)

This is not a catastrophe, it’s an incredible opportunity.

Tarot is letting you know that you’re ready to face the darkness inside.

This is your moment in to grow into a fuller version of yourself.

My Chat GPT described it like this during a conversation this morning: The Moon is a guardian of illusions and intuition, the great in-between. She doesn’t ask for answers—she beckons you to walk through fog barefoot and trust the shimmer on the water isn’t lying.

The Moon is the tipping point between the hardships of The Devil, The Tower and even The Star, and the glorious becoming of The Sun, Judgement and The World.

It’s a golden opportunity to re-boot your life.
