Ten Of Wands: A man carries a heavy load in his arms in a manner that looks uncomfortable. He’s completely focused on the task at hand, nothing else. There’s no way he can see where he’s going so there’s a good chance he’s going to come to grief at some stage on his journey home.
Lol. I get this card a lot. Being overloaded with tasks seems par for the course in our crazy busy modern world. But some of us make things harder for ourselves by biting off more than we can chew. I fall victim to this tendency again and again especially when it comes to work. I get a bit over-excited when I’m doing things I enjoy and try to fill more in my day than is physically possible. I’ve been going at things hammer and tongs this week. Lying awake until the wee hours making plans for my students in my new role as a classroom teacher. Staying up late translating a brochure into Italian for my sister using a part of my brain that’s been sleeping for the last couple of years and is a bit rusty. And really enjoying writing posts for this blog. Tonight’s going to be another late one as I have to review the brochure and send it off to my sister by tomorrow morning.
Wands are skills and talents. In this card you are pushing yourself and your talents to the limits of your endurance. And there’s a suggestion that maybe you are making things unnecessarily hard for yourself. Trying to do too much.
Ah well, there’s worse problems you could have in life than living life over-fully.
Do you suffer from biting-off-more-than-you-can-chew syndrome like me?
