I have an adult child who requires support for health reasons. Today that support involved taking her to a wine tasting, which was a four hour return trip. I grumbled and groaned about this in my head. I’d much rather stay in bed and wander around the Internet. Maybe write a post or two on this blog. Something I’ve been too tired to do for a few weeks. But duty/love called.
Before I left home I read the daily email I get from Mystic Medusa, my favourite astrologer. She advised that today was a good time to switch ‘I have to do something’ thoughts to ‘I get to do something’. And it worked. I get to write this post sitting in a restaurant with a beautiful view over vines. They even have a dish I can eat (very hard to find these days now that I’m managing an auto-immune condition).
As some peeps begin to return to work after the long Christmas-New Year break I thought it might be a good time to explore the Tarot of these holidays.
Ten Of Wands: How we feel before the holidays begin. Over-burdened. Exhausted. Especially at Christmas time when present shopping and school concerts and card sending and work functions are added to the usual load.
I know, I know. I haven’t been posting much in recent weeks. Like the bloke in the Ten Of Wands card above I’ve been a tad overloaded and my brain has been drained of words. There’s been nothing left for this blog at the end of the day. Nada.
The thing about the Ten Of Wands is that usually the person carrying the heavy load has brought some of their burden on themselves. So yes, my control freak nature probably doesn’t help when times are tough. Although I like to think of it as going the extra mile, lol.
But things can’t go on being intense forever. As they say: This too will pass. Remember that the next time you pull the Ten Of Wands out of the pack and see what you can do yourself to lessen the load.
My eldest daughter started uni a couple of months back and she is not waving drowning right now, swimming in work assignments. She can hardly keep up. The part-time job she had has gone out the window. Attending lectures is a rare treat. Most of the time she’s just plain bunkered down in her dorm room working through task after task.
Ten Of Wands: A man carries a heavy load in his arms in a manner that looks uncomfortable. He’s completely focused on the task at hand, nothing else. There’s no way he can see where he’s going so there’s a good chance he’s going to come to grief at some stage on his journey home.
I thought we might have a look today at Tarot cards associated with medical issues. NOTE: Just because these cards turn up in a reading does NOT mean you have a medical condition. As I keep on saying, there are 50 shades of Tarot, 50 possible meanings (or thereabouts), for each card. Please take the following with a large grain of salt. Some I’m sure of. Others are educated guesses.
