This twinset reminds us that we need both to grow. That neither indulgence nor a punitive atmosphere will help us flourish i.e. Lawnmower parenting can be just as detrimental to the psyche as a tyrannical boss in the workplace.

Very true, to this end I feel a lot of single parents compensate by developing a passable balance of these male/female characteristics
Great point! I was divorced with young children, but I co-parented so this dilemma didn’t so much apply to me. However, I think I played more the role of The Emperor (discipline) and dad did more of the indulging (Empress), lol. We don’t necessarily fit the role assigned to us by the gender in the cards.
