Life Lessons Tarot: Twin Cards

There are some key male/female pairings at the start of Life Lessons Tarot that can teach us a thing or two.

Let’s have a look at them…

The Magician is about will power.

The High Priestess is about intuition.

This male/female pairing at the start of the Tarot deck suggests that you need to use these in conjunction to reach The World card at the end of the journey. That you’ll only achieve nirvana if your will is motivated by your gut. That willpower alone cannot take you where you want to go.

This pairing is immediately followed by another…

The Empress is about nurturing.

The Emperor is about discipline.

This twinset reminds us that we need both to grow. That neither indulgence nor a punitive atmosphere will help us flourish i.e. Lawnmower parenting can be just as detrimental to the psyche as a tyrannical boss in the workplace.

Would you agree?

  1. Very true, to this end I feel a lot of single parents compensate by developing a passable balance of these male/female characteristics

    • Great point! I was divorced with young children, but I co-parented so this dilemma didn’t so much apply to me. However, I think I played more the role of The Emperor (discipline) and dad did more of the indulging (Empress), lol. We don’t necessarily fit the role assigned to us by the gender in the cards.
