It’s kind of obvious isn’t it? That The Chariot would be associated with riding a horse. I mean, take a look at the picture. A man is being pulled along in a chariot. Yair, sure, he’s being pulled by two sphinxes instead of two horses but same diff. Sphinxes, horses, tomaetoes, tomartoes.
I’m not a big horse rider myself but I went for a trail ride this afternoon in preparation for a longer trip I’m planning to do up in the mountains later this year. And what I noticed as I was riding was how it was a constant battle of wills between me and the horse. He kept shaking his head, trying to loosen my hold, and I kept reining him in, pulling him back under my command.
And that’s how The Chariot experience feels. You are trying to gain control of a situation through pure strength of will. Whether it’s you versus a horse or versus your parents (this card equates to the late teen years) or you in the workplace or you in a new relationship.
Can you think of any other examples?
