Nine Of Swords: The Princess And The Pea Syndrome

9 Swords

I had a meeting with a parent after school today to discuss her child’s progress as there is an underlying issue that concerns us both. Unfortunately we weren’t able to come up with a solution on the spot. And all night long no matter what else I’ve been doing this problem has been turning over at the back of my mind. Like a dog with a bone I just can’t let it go. Because I want to do a good job as a teacher but its hard when you’re inexperienced. Because I care about my students. Take my responsibility for them seriously.

I call this the princess and the pea syndrome. Like the princess in the fairytale unable to get a good night’s sleep until the pea under her mattress is removed my mind can’t rest until I resolve this problem. It is the pea under my mattress.

Hopefully like in the bedspread in the Nine Of Swords card that represents this experience all will be rosy in the end.

Does this ever happen to you?
