It seems appropriate on Valentine’s Day to explore the Tarot of Fifty Shades of Grey which has just been released world-wide as a movie.

The Lovers: Many women seem to view the relationship between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey as the ultimate romance.

The Empress: A big part of the story’s appeal is in how it acknowledges that women actually WANT to be sexually satisfied in their relationships.

Strength Reversed: Anastasia. Steele by name but not by nature. She struggles to assert herself with Christian.

King of Cups Reversed: Christian. The most difficult type of man to be involved with. Loving but manipulative. Powerful but damaged.

The Devil: Many commentators are claiming this movie is little more than a celebration of domestic abuse.

The Emperor: Others say it’s not domestic abuse because Christian laid his character bare to Anastasia in advance and his actions take place within the context of a signed contract.

The Fool Reversed: Peeps who are really into BDSM just laugh at the whole thing.

Nine Of Cups: Meanwhile the author is laughing all the way to the bank.
