The Tarot Of The Kate Middleton Radio DJ Phone Prank Tragedy

The big news in Australia at the moment is about the Radio DJ prank that went horribly wrong. The story goes like this…

Empress

The Empress: Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton falls pregnant.

The Star

The Star: Unfortunately she suffers from a little known pregnancy condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum – otherwise known as ‘living hell’ to sufferers – that causes severe vomiting forcing her to be hospitalised for bed rest and rehydration.

Magician

The Magician: An Australian radio production team comes up with the bright idea to ring up the hospital where Kate is staying for a lark. The two DJs pretend (badly) to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.

Wheel Of Fortune

The Wheel Of Fortune: In an unexpected development the radio DJs are put through to Kate’s room by a nurse who was filling in on reception where they hear personal details about Kate’s condition. The radio station broadcasts the phone call.

The World

The World: The prank captures the attention of the world. British paparazzi are miffed that two obscure antipodean DJs got the scoop ahead of them. One of the DJs boasts on Twitter that he will never ever top this success in his future career.

5 Swords

Five Of Swords: We are far away in Australia and not as obsessed with the royal family as the British but it seems that the two nurses who spoke on the phone must have been put under enormous pressure either by their superiors or by the press. This is the only thing that can explain what occurred next.

Death

Death: Unfortunately, tragically, one of the nurses who spoke on the phone is believed to have committed suicide. (Note: If you’re feeling emotionally fragile while reading this post please contact a health professional.)

Judgement

Judgement: As a result the two DJs who performed this prank are themselves now under enormous pressure to explain themselves. Yet there are many people who contributed to this tragedy: The station manager/lawyers/owners. The press who whipped up the story. Those who passed it on.

What we all really need is…

4 Swords

Four Of Swords: Time out to reflect on the situation. The radio station that the DJs work for has released a statement saying that prank calls will cease immediately across all its networks while a comprehensive review takes place. It’s the least they can do in the circumstances.

6 Wands R

Six Of Wands Reversed: There are no winners here. Kate’s privacy was invaded. Two nurses were humiliated in front of the world. Two young DJs are now being persecuted. And absolutely worst of all: A woman has died. My thoughts are with her husband and children at this time.

What are your thoughts on this terrible tragedy?

A Judgement Card Story: Scientific Proof Of The Afterlife!?!

For most of his career a neurosurgeon by the name of Eben Alexander was sceptical about his patient’s claims of near-death experiences. As far as he was concerned NDEs were just a product of brain chemistry. Fantasies produced under extreme stress.

Then in November 2008 his own brain was attacked by a rare bacterial meningitis. For seven days he lay in a deep coma. His chances of survival low. While unconscious he experienced a hyper-vivid and coherent reality. He saw flocks of shimmering beings arcing through the sky. Heard a glorious chant booming from on high. Felt connected to everything in a way he never had before. Was enveloped in a vast presence of light, colour and love. He was accompanied on his journey through this strange realm by a woman who he first met sitting next to him on a butterfly wing.

When he woke up from the coma he tried to rationalise his hallucinations like the good scientist that he is. But he couldn’t. While he’d been unconscious brain scans had been taken which showed that the part of the brain that controls thought and emotion had shut down completely. His brain was literally incapable of producing the experiences he had during his coma.

Thus Alexander was forced to acknowledge the possibility of life after death. As a scientist he could come to no other conclusion. Moreover, after he recovered Alexander – who was adopted – was shown a picture by his biological family of a sister he had never met or seen before. Turns out, she was the woman on the butterfly wing.

You can read the full story in his book ‘Proof of Heaven’ which was recently released.

Of course not everyone believes this is proof that NDEs are real. Some have said he must been dreaming. That his brain wasn’t as blank as the hospital machines indicated. This seems a rather unscientific response. A point black refusal to accept the evidence as it exists. And it doesn’t explain the sister.

This is very much a Judgement card story. First of all, because like this Tarot card it involves human interaction with an angelic dimension (for want of a better phrase.) And secondly, because it calls into question the judgement many have made in the modern era that there is no possibility of an afterlife.

Are you convinced by Alexander’s story? Or not?

The Tarot Of Frankenstorm (Or Any Natural Disaster For That Matter)

The Tarot cards that refer to a disaster of the scale of Frankenstorm come near the end of Life Lessons Tarot (otherwise known as the Major Arcana.) They are the heavy-hitters of the Tarot pack. The sequence of events might be summed up as follows: Continue reading
