Recently I stayed up reading till 6am. I’m hopeless. Once I start a good book I find it hard to put it down. For that reason I limit myself to reading on the holidays. Otherwise I’d get nothing done, lol. Three recent favorites are above. Let’s explore the Tarot of Reading, shall we?
The movie Frozen has been an absolute phenomenon.

I’m having one of those days when I just can’t get my head straight. There’s a million things I could do but none of them seem to be getting me anywhere. So why bother? Which makes me think of this card…
As some peeps begin to return to work after the long Christmas-New Year break I thought it might be a good time to explore the Tarot of these holidays.
Ten Of Wands: How we feel before the holidays begin. Over-burdened. Exhausted. Especially at Christmas time when present shopping and school concerts and card sending and work functions are added to the usual load.
A Canadian poet by the name of Shane Koyczan posted an animated spoken poem called ‘To This Day’ to YouTube a week or so ago which has gone viral. It deals with the profound and lasting impact bullying at school can have on the individual. This is an issue which has impacted my immediate family in a profound way over the last couple of years and is close to my heart. I’m going to examine the Tarot of the poem which you can find on my Facebook page or at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE1Y2vGVcxw.

Until recently I thought I had the Ace cards all figured out. But then I realised that just like their playing card doppelgängers they have two sides. On the one hand they signify beginnings. And on the other they signify a bonus of some sort.
In playing cards the Ace can equal 1 or 11. In Tarot an Ace can symbolise the start of something or a great blessing being bestowed in some area of your life. Often they signify both at once i.e. The new thing coming into your life IS a great gift.
Let’s take them suit by suit.
I’ve talked about the Ace of Cups before. How one of its meanings is ‘a gift of love’. Well today I experienced a totally Ace of Cups moment so I thought I would share.
As I said in another post, the Ace of Cups represents a gift of love. There were many such gifts given during the horror that unfolded in the U.S. yesterday when a gunman opened fire in a primary school in Connecticut.
First grade teacher Kaitlin Roig protected her class from the gunman by barricading them in a bathroom. She said to them, ‘I need you to know that I love you all very much and that it’s going to be OK.’ She thought they were all going to die and that was the last thing her students were ever going to hear. Afterwards she told reporters, ‘I wanted them to know someone loved them. I wanted that to be the last thing they heard, not the gunfire in the hallway.’
What a great gift to give to the children in her care. Not only did she save their lives she had the piece of mind to let them know what was truly important in that moment. That they are loved. Bless her and the other heroes of this terrible tragedy. Some gave their lives for their students and there is no greater gift of love than that. I salute them all!
