I’ve written before about how Tarot contains a holy book that charts the journey of a human soul through all the stages and experiences of life. I call these cards Life Lessons Tarot. But they’re better known as the Major Arcana.
These lessons are divided into three parts. We’ve already looked at the first part: Childhood. The second part covers adulthood. As follows… Continue reading →
I’ve talked about mental illness before. But in my opinion, as someone who’s had extensive experience in this area, you can never talk about it enough. There are lots of peeps suffering out there with one form or another of this insidious disease.
I read the above quote on Facebook the other day, which is kind of ironic. As Facebook is based on an endless ream of information presented in user-friendly bites. Whilst wisdom tends to be found in books, in D & M sessions with intimates, through meditation or when immersing oneself in nature.
Throwback Thursday is a chance to revisit some of my favorite posts. Seeing as how fans like myself are beginning to rev up for the next season of GoT I thought I’d take the opportunity to revisit where the TV show began by republishing the Tarot of Game of Thrones Season One. Continue reading →
It’s Mercury Retrograde right now. The thrice yearly period in which the planet Mercury appears to travel backwards in the sky. According to astrologists it’s a time of year when all hell breaks loose. Technology breaks down, schedules go crazy and any contract you sign will turn out to be chaining you to the devil himself. Peeps go on and on about how badass it is. But like all things it has a positive as well as a negative side. Mercury Retrograde is a great time for reflection. For tuning into your intuition, reviewing where things are at and getting advice. Aka The Hermit card.
I haven’t written much about The Hermit card on this blog. We all have our biases and I haven’t felt like I had much to say about him (or her). But seriously, talk about being blind. There is a blaring example of The Hermit card in my life at the moment. It hit me today as I drove a loved one to her weekly counseling session. The Hermit is the therapist of course. The counsellor. The psychiatrist. We all need someone at some time in our lives to guide us through the mess of our emotions and thoughts. Sometimes it can be friends who play this role. Sometimes self-help books. You can google The Hermit, seek advice online. Grandparents can be great Hermits because they’re not under pressure like our parents to make us do the responsible thing. So you can rely on them for honest advice.
Who or what do you turn to when you need The Hermit?
So I made the fatal mistake of letting a boy in my local video shop (yes, some of us still hire them instead of downloading them off the internet) talk me into renting the first few episodes of the TV series ‘Game Of Thrones’. Now of course I’m hooked. Hooked and repulsed in equal measure because Lord Of The Rings it is not. The good guys don’t necessarily win. Justice doesn’t prevail.
But I’m enjoying the characters. The women are unexpectedly diverse and well-rounded. And even though I haven’t quite got to the end of season one I thought it would be fun to explore the Tarot of the leads.
I’ve always thought that the Eight Of Pentacles represented processing stuff but then yesterday I felt very clear that I should use the Knight Of Swords Reversed to indicate my mental processing has slowed down. So today I thought I’d investigate the Tarot of processing stuff starting with this card…
