Three Of Swords: Stabbing Yourself In The Heart

3 SwordsBack at the campsite again. Hasn’t stopped raining since I set up the tent. Some poles are bent and the fly is leaking after the other night’s little fiasco. Just lost my first version of this post in the ether. That’s the kind of year I’m having.

I must be worn out from all the dramas this week (either that or from staying up to the wee hours catching up on my Internet interests while back home) because I had a total freak out Continue reading

A Rose By Any Other Tag Line Would Smell As Sweet!

cropped-tea.jpgHello Teaclubbers!

I’ve popped home from my bush camp for the night to pick up tent supplies and sit out the gale force winds in the comfort of my own home. With a cup of tea in hand of course. Thought I’d change the tag line of this blog while I was at it.

You never know how a blog’s going to turn out when you start one. In the beginning I imagined a whole lot of people on here sharing their ideas about the meaning of Tarot cards. Instead it’s turned into a daily rant by yours truly about the Tarot of some aspect of popular culture or everyday life (usually my own because there’s nothing like laying yourself bare for your art, gulp.)

So I thought I should make my tag line a better fit for the type of blog I’ve ended up creating. Let me know if you think it sounds right or not. Maybe you have a better suggestion? I do like to hear from you. Just because I took the word ‘share’ out doesn’t mean I don’t want you to share anymore. I do. Anytime!

Cheers, tan.

The Tarot Of The Night My Tent Broke

Okay. So I finally make it camping and even work out how to blog from my iPhone and then what happens next? My tent breaks. Sheesh! Talk about beIng tested. Here is the Tarot of The Night My Tent Broke (pictures to be added when I get back home.)

The Devil: Learning To Submit!

The Devil

Well here I am in whoop whoop and of course the Internet is patchy. I can’t use my laptop as I usually do so am typing this on my iPhone. And because I’m an idiot I haven’t loaded any Tarot card photos onto my phone so I won’t be able to add the pictures till I get back home. And because typing on my iPhone is soooo annoying my posts won’t be too long.

But I’m going with what I’ve got and not sweating on some perfect ideal of how these posts should be. Because today a word came into my head. Continue reading

The Magician: The Fascinating Case Of Developer Bob!

The Magician

I haven’t done any posts specifically on The Magician card yet so I thought I’d remedy that today. This is one of the most popular cards in the Tarot deck. Because, hey, who doesn’t want to work a little magic on their lives.

Let me tell you a story about a bloke in the U.S. going by the delightful nickname of ‘Developer Bob’ who has become famous for the fantastic scam he managed to pull off in his workplace.

Strength And The Power Of No

Strength

I used to find it hard to say the word ‘No’ to people. As in, ‘No. It’s not okay for you to keep talking on the phone when you should be serving me.’ As in, ‘No. I’m not going to clean your dishes/clothes/car for you.’ As in, ‘No. I don’t want to come out tonight. I’d rather stay home and read a book.’ (That just sounds weird before you’re 40 years old. Even for an introvert.) But since I reached my forties I’ve been liberated. Whoo-hoo! The ‘no’ word just gets easier and easier. The important thing now is to remember to say it kindly.

Finding the courage to ask for what you want  – rather than doing what is expected of you – is very much the domain of the Strength card. Continue reading

The Tarot Of The Dark Knight Rises!

I finally got around to watching The Dark Knight Rises months after everyone else. Am not a big fan of movie violence so was a bit meh about the action but enjoyed the characters and the plot. Let’s have a look at the Tarot of this movie…
