The Lovers: That Loving Feeling Takes A Lot Of Work!

The Lovers

Have a close look at The Lovers card. The man is looking at the woman while the woman stares up at an angel in heaven. The lovers are not in synch in other words. They have a different focus. Different priorities. The challenge of every relationship is to stay together even though you and your partner will not always be in tune.

Luckily we have a plethora of experts to help us work out how to achieve this. The Personal Health columnist for The New York Times recently suggested the following as the keys to success in a long-term relationship.

Strength: Are You A Carrot, Egg Or Coffee Bean?

A young woman went to her grandmother and spoke about her life and how things were so hard for her. She didn’t know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new one arose.

Her grandmother filled three pots with water. Continue reading

The Tarot Cards That You Forget!

cropped-tea.jpgIt’s always interesting to note the Tarot cards you focus on and the ones you don’t. There are some cards that have come up in my posts again and again. And there are others I’ve ignored completely. Including:

Ace of Wands. Ace of Swords. Ace of Pentacles.

All the Page cards.

Knight of Cups. Knight of Wands. Knight of Pentacles.

Three of Pentacles. Six of Swords. Seven of Cups. Seven of Wands.

Justice.

It’s not that they’re unimportant. One of them, Justice, is a Life Lessons (Major Arcana) card. So why haven’t I mentioned them? Maybe because they represent energies that aren’t active in my life right now. Or maybe because I don’t fully understand them yet.

Court cards are complicated so that’s why I’ve been reluctant to tackle the pages and the knights. Whereas I’ve been struggling with a new understanding of the Ace cards and am waiting until my thoughts are coherent enough for me to put my idea into words. The seven cards have also been under my radar. Again, I’m still coming to grips with the meaning of the number 7 in Tarot.

I’ll try and cover these cards in my posts over the next few weeks because every card is important.

Can you think of any other reason you can be blind to particular Tarot cards?

The Moon: What Lies Beneath! When monsters walk out of myth and into reality!

The Moon

I’m featuring The Moon quite a lot this week aren’t I? As I’ve said before, once you start focusing on a particular Tarot card you find it popping up everywhere. One of the meanings of this card is ‘what lies beneath’. This can refer to the murky realms of the subconscious or the murky realms of other stuff like history or dreams. Today’s version refers to the murky depths of the ocean.

Your Personal Tarot Card For 2013

cropped-tea.jpgI’ve written about Tarot Year Cards before but thought it might be a good idea to review this topic at the start of a new year so you can have a go at working out your personal Tarot card for 2013.

There’s a numerological formula you can use to work out which Tarot card represents the type of experiences you can expect to have during each year. I’ve been using it for so long I can’t remember anymore where I learnt this trick but I find it quite reliable.

The formula will give you a number that correlates with one of the Life Lesson (Major Arcana) cards. Because of the way it works each following year you will shift into the subsequent Life Lesson card e.g. If your Tarot Year Card in 2012 was The Empress, in 2013 it will be The Emperor.

The formula is this: Continue reading

The Empress: The Motherhood Rap

Well you know I love a good bit of popular culture. I watched this hilarious kick ass video today on YouTube called ‘The Motherhood Rap’ which has gone viral. In it a woman sings about being a mum all in the aid of selling a particular brand of car. Those advertisement kids are getting more and more creative aren’t they?

On so many levels the video embodies this card:

The Empress
