Visiting Bali has its ups and downs.
Let’s explore some of those.

Is it just me or does life feel challenging at the moment?
There’s the rising cost-of-living, testing political situations, devastating fires (or floods or other climate events), needless wars, and online bots dedicated to spreading lies about everything. It’s like the ground beneath us has shifted in recent times, making it hard for us to stay afloat.
Which is this card…
Continue readingAt the music concert the other night, one line by Bliss N Eso really caught my attention…
All I know is the sun is shining yet we fight all through the night
It’s in a song called ‘The Sea Is Rising’ about our collective refusal to tackle environmental issues seriously. However for me, it reflects how easy it is to get caught up in our daily anxieties and forget how beautiful the world is. This is such a part of the modern condition, leading to serious mental health issues, such as depression and psychosis.
For me that line is best summed up by this card… Continue reading
It’s 3am in the morning and I can’t sleep. So I thought I might explore the Tarot of Insomnia while I’m in that zone… Continue reading
My air conditioner’s broken and it’s 39 degrees outside. Tomorrow it’s going to be 42. Luckily I have a lovely air-conditioner mechanic who’s going to pop by in the morning to give the pipes a squiz. In the meantime I get an instant sweat lodge which’ll give me a thorough New Year’s detox. Oh yay!
Even though the cavalry is on its way, I still feel panicky at the thought of having to sweat my way through the next 24 hours. It’s made me ponder the Tarot of First World Problems… Continue reading
I attended the Women’s March in Melbourne this afternoon. The first of many being held around the world in support of the Women’s Marches in the U.S. tomorrow. Six thousand of us turned up. Not a shabby turnout for a sunny weekend day during summer.
I’m not a regular political activist. I don’t join marches at the drop of a hat. So I want to explore the Tarot of what I experienced… Continue reading
Recently I stayed up reading till 6am. I’m hopeless. Once I start a good book I find it hard to put it down. For that reason I limit myself to reading on the holidays. Otherwise I’d get nothing done, lol. Three recent favorites are above. Let’s explore the Tarot of Reading, shall we?
I promised a lovely lady on my Facebook page ages ago that I’d republish all my medical Tarot blogs. Here’s one I found. Sorry it took so long…
I’ve had way more experience of mental health issues in the last few years than I ever wanted to so I thought it might be time to tackle the Tarot of Mental Illness in more depth. Unsurprisingly the cards involved include those in the last section of Life Lessons Tarot (aka the Major Arcana). Note: These cards might turn up reversed in a reading about mental illness.
The Devil: Living in denial. An inability to face reality. Losing yourself in drugs. Denial that you have a mental illness. Continue reading
Nine Of Swords: Making a mountain out of a molehill.
I read this slogan on Biddy Tarot’s latest email today and thought it was too good not to pass on. Often you are worrying over nothing with this card. It’s a reminder to chillax. To not let fear rule your life. Easier said than done of course. I reckon meditation is a good antidote to this mindset. Or doing something along those lines. Like reading a good book or exercising, something that takes your mind into a different zone.
Are you a Nine Of Swords worrywart?
