I’ve just been on a mad Game Of Thrones bender. Watched all season two in one long blissful night. So I thought I’d have a go at discussing the Tarot of GOT Season Two. I won’t be able to explain everything, the tapestry is too rich, but will try to pinpoint some of the major themes and characters.

The Tarot Of Mental Illness
I promised a lovely lady on my Facebook page ages ago that I’d republish all my medical Tarot blogs. Here’s one I found. Sorry it took so long…
I’ve had way more experience of mental health issues in the last few years than I ever wanted to so I thought it might be time to tackle the Tarot of Mental Illness in more depth. Unsurprisingly the cards involved include those in the last section of Life Lessons Tarot (aka the Major Arcana). Note: These cards might turn up reversed in a reading about mental illness.
Queen Of Cups Reversed: The Manipulative Bitch!
I used to be scared of the Court Cards but now I’m really starting to enjoy them. You can see certain personality traits in each one.
Now, I don’t want you to think I’m picking on the Queen Of Cups or anything, all of the kings and queens have the potential to be arseholes and bitches when reversed, it’s just that Continue reading
Ten Of Cups + The Tower: Family Drama
We’re having our fair share of family drama at the moment. My favourite astrologer Mystic Medusa says that the whole world is experiencing what she calls the Zap Zone, i.e. a period of upheaval and change, and that this can be felt on an individual level. And I’m like, well derr, I can see that. I’m not going to go into details, some things are too personal, but I thought in honour of the occasion that I’d suggest the following two cards as being representative of family drama:
The Tarot Of Game Of Thrones Season One
So I made the fatal mistake of letting a boy in my local video shop (yes, some of us still hire them instead of downloading them off the internet) talk me into renting the first few episodes of the TV series ‘Game Of Thrones’. Now of course I’m hooked. Hooked and repulsed in equal measure because Lord Of The Rings it is not. The good guys don’t necessarily win. Justice doesn’t prevail.
But I’m enjoying the characters. The women are unexpectedly diverse and well-rounded. And even though I haven’t quite got to the end of season one I thought it would be fun to explore the Tarot of the leads.
Fight Night: Three Of Cups vs Four Of Wands!
It’s always fun and enlightening to compare Tarot cards with one another. The Three Of Cups and Four Of Wands have long struck me as similar in some ways. In both people are having a good time, celebrating something. So what are the differences between them? Let’s put them in the ring together to fight it out, shall we? Ding ding ding….
Sunday Spotlight: The Knight Of Cups – Following Your Dreams
Knight Of Cups: A knight wearing a suit of armour holds a cup carefully in his hand while riding on the back of a white horse. He stares into the far distance at his destination but doesn’t look like he’s in any sort of hurry to get there.
He is Continue reading
The Tarot Of Being A Writer
I’ve been writing novels in my leisure time for years. Haven’t finished any yet but here are some things I’ve learned along the way…
It takes two things to be a writer:
Two Of Cups: When You Never Want The Conversation To End
The reason I didn’t post last night is because I went out for dinner at 7pm and didn’t get home till 2. Seriously unusual for moi. When it comes to leisure time my preference is always to lie around on the couch reading and writing. Maybe it was the coffee I drank at 10 o’clock that kept me going – I don’t usually touch the stuff – but I don’t think so.
