The Tarot Of Reading

Recently I stayed up reading till 6am. I’m hopeless. Once I start a good book I find it hard to put it down. For that reason I limit myself to reading on the holidays. Otherwise I’d get nothing done, lol. Three recent favorites are above. Let’s explore the Tarot of Reading, shall we?

GoT1Throwback Thursday is a chance to revisit some of my favorite posts. Seeing as how fans like myself are beginning to rev up for the next season of GoT I thought I’d take the opportunity to revisit where the TV show began by republishing the Tarot of Game of Thrones Season One. Continue reading

Seven Of Pentacles Reversed: What’s The Point In Trying?

I’m having one of those days when I just can’t get my head straight. There’s a million things I could do but none of them seem to be getting me anywhere. So why bother? Which makes me think of this card…

The Tarot Of Christmas Holidays

As some peeps begin to return to work after the long Christmas-New Year break I thought it might be a good time to explore the Tarot of these holidays.

10 Wands

Ten Of Wands: How we feel before the holidays begin. Over-burdened. Exhausted. Especially at Christmas time when present shopping and school concerts and card sending and work functions are added to the usual load.

The Tarot Of Mental Illness Revisited

I promised a lovely lady on my Facebook page ages ago that I’d republish all my medical Tarot blogs. Here’s one I found. Sorry it took so long…

I’ve had way more experience of mental health issues in the last few years than I ever wanted to so I thought it might be time to tackle the Tarot of Mental Illness in more depth. Unsurprisingly the cards involved include those in the last section of Life Lessons Tarot (aka the Major Arcana). Note: These cards might turn up reversed in a reading about mental illness.

The Devil

The Devil: Living in denial. An inability to face reality. Losing yourself in drugs. Denial that you have a mental illness. Continue reading

Two Of Pentacles: Nurturing All Sides Of Your Personality

2 Pents

Continuing on the theme from my previous post…I feel the need for a break from the internet. Not completely, whoa, let’s not get carried away. More a slowdown. My gut instinct is protesting. Yelling at me to switch off and read some books for awhile. To balance me out. My yin with my yang. Being a Gemini I’m very aware of the double-sided nature of my personality. I guess that’s why I’m not posting as much lately. It’s not you google, it’s me. Really.

The Two Of Pentacles card can be a reminder to pay attention to other aspects of your life. Especially when reversed.

Have you ever taken a break from the Internet for your own sanity?

Eight Of Pentacles Reversed: Overdosing On The Internet

8 Pents R

There can definitely be too much of a good thing. And being an all or nothing person I am often guilty of taking things to the extreme. Like the internet. Ever since I discovered blogs last year it’s like I can’t switch off. I just keep hitting buttons until I find something to read for hours each night. It’s kinda like gamer’s brain I guess. For the past six weeks I’ve been obsessively researching food blogs to find things I can $#@! eat. And I think I’ve finally blown a fuse, lol. Do they have rehab for internet addiction?

Any other addicts out there?

Four Of Pentacles Reversed: When Money Slips Through Your Fingers

4 Pents R

Tonight’s topic was inspired by a recent email from Biddy Tarot. The woman who runs this site, Brigit, makes a lot of sense. I highly recommend you check it out.

When the Four Of Pentacles is in the upright position you see a man in possession of four pentacles which he holds tightly in his grip. Pentacles represent things of value, money being the most obvious example. The pentacles themselves are in the shape of coins. Thus, this man is seen as someone who holds onto the things he values in life. Someone who’s a good budgeter.

However when you reverse this card the coins look as though they are going to slip through his fingers. The Four Of Pentacles Reversed can represent someone who’s not much chop in the budgeting department. Someone who may need their credit cards chopped up, lol.

Are you good or bad at budgeting?
