Judgement: The Need For Group Think (Or Why You Should Definitely Pull Me Up If I’ve Missed The Mark)

Judgement

I must have mentioned the Judgement card a lot on this blog because it’s one of the tags that stands out on my home page. And this post is only gonna make it stand out some more. Funny that I’ve written so much about a card that took me a long time to understand. Hmmm, this could be the Judgey McJudgerson side of my personality shining through. I do have a loooot of opinions about things. Anyhoo, back to my post…

The Tarot Of Shane Koyczan’s Anti-Bullying Love Poem ‘To This Day’

A Canadian poet by the name of Shane Koyczan posted an animated spoken poem called ‘To This Day’ to YouTube a week or so ago which has gone viral. It deals with the profound and lasting impact bullying at school can have on the individual. This is an issue which has impacted my immediate family in a profound way over the last couple of years and is close to my heart. I’m going to examine the Tarot of the poem which you can find on my Facebook page or at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE1Y2vGVcxw.

Gotye Remixed: The Hanged Man & Page Of Swords Reversed

GotyeThe video link I’m giving you today is a YouTube parody of the Gotye song that’s been a worldwide hit. Instead of singing ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ the Gotye character in the clip sings ‘Some Study That I Used To Know.’ His point being that he learnt lots of stuff at school he’s now forgotten. As he says, ‘Why did I have to learn this stuff? It has never come in handy, never used it for nothing.’

The Kimbra figure in the clip represents Continue reading

The Moon: Your Greatest Spider Nightmare Come True!

Spider Rain

For those other arachnophobes out there comes the delightful news that it’s literally raining spiders in Brazil. A swarm of the darn things have set up home across the skyline dangling off power lines and other surfaces in Santo Antonio da Plantina. Basically forming a giant net in the sky. Yuck! They seem to be pretty large critters as well if you compare their size to the power pole transformers. Double yuck! It gets worse. Apparently some spider species have learnt to cooperate and weave (boom boom) extensive social networks. It’s almost as if they have a hive mind. I’ll be crossing Brazil off my bucket list of countries to visit then.

FYI: The Medical Tarot

I thought we might have a look today at Tarot cards associated with medical issues. NOTE: Just because these cards turn up in a reading does NOT mean you have a medical condition. As I keep on saying, there are 50 shades of Tarot, 50 possible meanings (or thereabouts), for each card. Please take the following with a large grain of salt. Some I’m sure of. Others are educated guesses.

The Pages: What The?

Page cards are the last bastion for me to crack on this blog. I struggled to write about the Ace cards because I was wrestling with a couple of different ideas about them. But it’s a whole other story with the Pages. I struggle to write about them because they are just so darn tootin’ hard to understand. But I’m gonna give it a go. (Deep breath)….

Like all the court cards Pages usually represent people. But not always. They’re complicated. Whilst kings and queens represent the mature and the experienced, Pages represent the young, the immature, or an aspect of your own personality that is beginning to blossom. If they symbolise an event it’s usually something new and undeveloped. And each Page card represents these things according to their suit as follows:

The Tarot of The Anne Hathaway Les Mis Parody

I’ve found another top video clip for your entertainment. A Les Mis spoof in which a pseudo Anne Hathaway begs Academy Members not to forget her dream come Oscar night to the tune of Fantine’s big song in Les Miserables ‘I Dreamed A Dream’. You can find the link at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4yxsRRnvkE&feature=player_embedded.

Hmmmmm. Not sure which card to file this one under.

The Tarot Of Lance Armstrong’s Confession

I started this post several weeks ago when it was the watercooler story of the day. Then put it on ice when I went away on holiday. But Lance’s very qualified confession makes it the story that just keeps on giving. There seem to be so many levels to his deception. A few more were explored tonight on a cutting edge Australian current affairs program ‘Four Corners’.

So let’s have a look at the Tarot of Lance Armstrong’s confession.

The Two Sides Of Ace Cards

Until recently I thought I had the Ace cards all figured out. But then I realised that just like their playing card doppelgängers they have two sides. On the one hand they signify beginnings. And on the other they signify a bonus of some sort.

In playing cards the Ace can equal 1 or 11. In Tarot an Ace can symbolise the start of something or a great blessing being bestowed in some area of your life. Often they signify both at once i.e. The new thing coming into your life IS a great gift.

Let’s take them suit by suit.

Three Of Swords: Stabbing Yourself In The Heart

3 SwordsBack at the campsite again. Hasn’t stopped raining since I set up the tent. Some poles are bent and the fly is leaking after the other night’s little fiasco. Just lost my first version of this post in the ether. That’s the kind of year I’m having.

I must be worn out from all the dramas this week (either that or from staying up to the wee hours catching up on my Internet interests while back home) because I had a total freak out Continue reading
