I’m off camping tomorrow. Going bush. That’s my personal rejuvenation therapy. In theory I should have internet connection while I’m away and will keep blogging. But if I disappear for the next ten days you’ll know why. Cheers, tan.

The Tarot Of The Dark Knight Rises!
I finally got around to watching The Dark Knight Rises months after everyone else. Am not a big fan of movie violence so was a bit meh about the action but enjoyed the characters and the plot. Let’s have a look at the Tarot of this movie…
The Tarot Of The Kate Middleton Radio DJ Phone Prank Tragedy
The big news in Australia at the moment is about the Radio DJ prank that went horribly wrong. The story goes like this…
The Empress: Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton falls pregnant.
The Star: Unfortunately she suffers from a little known pregnancy condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum – otherwise known as ‘living hell’ to sufferers – that causes severe vomiting forcing her to be hospitalised for bed rest and rehydration.
The Magician: An Australian radio production team comes up with the bright idea to ring up the hospital where Kate is staying for a lark. The two DJs pretend (badly) to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.
The Wheel Of Fortune: In an unexpected development the radio DJs are put through to Kate’s room by a nurse who was filling in on reception where they hear personal details about Kate’s condition. The radio station broadcasts the phone call.
The World: The prank captures the attention of the world. British paparazzi are miffed that two obscure antipodean DJs got the scoop ahead of them. One of the DJs boasts on Twitter that he will never ever top this success in his future career.
Five Of Swords: We are far away in Australia and not as obsessed with the royal family as the British but it seems that the two nurses who spoke on the phone must have been put under enormous pressure either by their superiors or by the press. This is the only thing that can explain what occurred next.
Death: Unfortunately, tragically, one of the nurses who spoke on the phone is believed to have committed suicide. (Note: If you’re feeling emotionally fragile while reading this post please contact a health professional.)
Judgement: As a result the two DJs who performed this prank are themselves now under enormous pressure to explain themselves. Yet there are many people who contributed to this tragedy: The station manager/lawyers/owners. The press who whipped up the story. Those who passed it on.
What we all really need is…
Four Of Swords: Time out to reflect on the situation. The radio station that the DJs work for has released a statement saying that prank calls will cease immediately across all its networks while a comprehensive review takes place. It’s the least they can do in the circumstances.
Six Of Wands Reversed: There are no winners here. Kate’s privacy was invaded. Two nurses were humiliated in front of the world. Two young DJs are now being persecuted. And absolutely worst of all: A woman has died. My thoughts are with her husband and children at this time.
What are your thoughts on this terrible tragedy?
The Star In Action On The (Not-So) Mean Streets Of New York
So I mentioned a few days ago that according to Tarot after you have a Tower experience like the Frankenstorm that has just ravaged the northern coast of the U.S. you automatically move towards a Star experience. And voila, today one of my favourite websites, Jezebel, discusses how exactly this is happening on the streets of New York. People are being nicer to one another. I myself have been particularly taken by photos of New Yorkers recharging their phones on the sidewalk courtesy of strangers. Once upon a time we rushed to get food and fuel, now we rush to recharge (Completely understandably because we want to let family and friends know we’re okay, but still, lol.) The Star is Continue reading
The Tarot Of Frankenstorm (Or Any Natural Disaster For That Matter)
The Tarot cards that refer to a disaster of the scale of Frankenstorm come near the end of Life Lessons Tarot (otherwise known as the Major Arcana.) They are the heavy-hitters of the Tarot pack. The sequence of events might be summed up as follows: Continue reading
The Tarot Of T.G.I.F.
I had that darn Katy Perry song ‘Last Friday Night’ stuck in my head for months this year. You know, the one that has a chorus singing T.G.I.F. T.G.I.F. T.G.I.F. louder and louder. Well, after a week back at work, I couldn’t agree with that lyric more. So just for fun I thought I’d explore the Tarot of Thank God It’s Friday.
This is how I normally feel by Friday… Continue reading
Heartache vs Heartbreak
Yesterday I described the Five of Cups as being about heart-break and the Three of Swords as being about heart-ache. I want to explore today what I meant by that. Let’s have a look at them shall we?
This Versus That
To understand Tarot it helps to compare cards with one another. We’ve met the cards below in previous posts. They both signify that it’s time to have a break in some way. Let’s explore their similarities and differences shall we?

Two Heads (Cards) Are Better Than One, Don’t You Think?
The more Tarot cards you pull out of the pack the more refined the advice will become. But warning warning danger danger don’t pull so many that the message gets lost altogether. Start slowly. Try two to begin with.
Why The Star is Underrated!
I’ve always had a problem with the definitions ascribed to The Star: calm, peace of mind, feeling hopeful. They sound kind of lame. But let’s face it, a card that comes after The Tower and before The Moon in the Tarot deck is going be anything but lame.
This card doesn’t signify a peaceful calm time in your life. Bollocks to that. Look at the picture. Continue reading
