We put a lot of importance on ‘telling the truth’ in our society.
In the courtroom we’re asked to ‘tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth’.
As if truth is something definite. Absolute.
But what does Tarot have to say about truth?
We put a lot of importance on ‘telling the truth’ in our society.

But what does Tarot have to say about truth?
Through no fault of my own, I’m going on three holidays in the sun this year. And it got me thinking. Which Tarot card would represent this delightful occurrence? It has to be this one, surely… Continue reading
I read an interesting article today that suggests the opposite of addiction is not sobriety. It’s connection. Apparently there’s a lot of research to back up this statement. It also makes sense. Emotional trauma and loss are often at the core of addiction.
You can find the article here: http://upliftconnect.com/opposite-addiction-connection/.
Of course, all addictions are not created equal. You can addicted to cigarettes, alcohol or drugs. You can also be addicted to coffee, or in my case, milk for forty years. Some cause more damage than others. But they all cause damage. We all want solutions.
Tarot actually has a lesson to teach about addiction, which goes something like this…
Some peeps just don’t know when to shut the f*** up.
They’re the ones who suffer from verbal diarrhoea.
Or foot in mouth disease.
They’re the acquaintance who posts endless tedious updates online. About the food they ate for lunch or the movie they just watched on TV.
Sorry, what? I feel asleep for a sec.
They’re the insensitive friend who shoves baby photos in your face when they know you’ve had trouble conceiving.
It’s an inability to prevent yourself from commenting online – even when you know the trolls are going to come a huntin’ if you do.
So which Tarot card would symbolise this highly annoying character trait?
Probably this one… Continue reading
I read an interesting article today entitled ‘Stop Being a Butthole Wife’. It was written by a woman who realised after she was widowed how nagging had damaged her relationship with her husband. You can read the original article here: http://herviewfromhome.com/stop-being-a-butthole-wife/
Of course, being a butthole cuts both ways. You can be a butthole husband as much as a butthole wife. How? By focussing your attention on the small faults that upset you, rather than the overall awesomeness that made you choose that partner in the first place.
So what Tarot cards would symbolise a ‘butthole partner’? Continue reading
I finally watched the Wolf of Wall Street and it was just as morally repugnant as I expected it to be. I had resisted it’s siren song for that reason for years. Honestly, life is too short to expend it watching peeps behave in a disgusting manner. But I recently succumbed because I wanted to see Margot Robbie’s breakthrough performance. Margot is not only a luminescent screen goddess but a fair dinkum sheila from Australia, like me (the Australian, not the goddess part, lol).
The Tarot of the Wolf of Wall Street would go something like this… Continue reading
My city is hurting. A few days ago a young man in a car deliberately mowed down pedestrians in the heart of Melbourne, killing some and injuring many. Five people have already died. More are in danger. They’re calling it the ‘CBD Massacre.’ Which it was.
These are the Tarot cards we’re experiencing… Continue reading
I attended the Women’s March in Melbourne this afternoon. The first of many being held around the world in support of the Women’s Marches in the U.S. tomorrow. Six thousand of us turned up. Not a shabby turnout for a sunny weekend day during summer.
I’m not a regular political activist. I don’t join marches at the drop of a hat. So I want to explore the Tarot of what I experienced… Continue reading
This might not be news to the rest of you but I was shocked today to learn from a cashier that it’s very unusual for peeps to pay with cash anymore – even for a $5 coffee.
I’m a cash person. Each week I take a certain amount of money out of my account and try to live within that budget. It helps me manage my money and brings me a great deal of satisfaction in seeing exactly what rewards my efforts bring.
But clearly I am in a teensy tiny minority.
This made me wonder about the psychology and the Tarot of Pay Wave… Continue reading
It’s summer in Australia at the moment. There’s been heatwaves and record-breaking storms and sharks in unprecedented numbers. So I thought it might be fun to explore the Tarot of an Australian summer… Continue reading
